Spencer W. Kimball
Spencer W Kimball was the President of the Mormon religion from 1973 until his death in 1985.
- "The progress toward eternal life is a matter of achieving perfection. Living all the commandments guarantees total forgiveness of sins and assures one of exaltation through that perfection which comes by complying with the formula the Lord gave us." (The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 208)
- "There is one crucial test of repentance. This is abandonment of the sin" (The Miracle of Forgiveness, p.163. Also cited in Doctrines of the Gospel Student Manual: Religion 231 and 232, p.40).
- "They are good citizens and splendid neighbors, but spiritually speaking they seem to be in a long, deep sleep. They are doing nothing seriously wrong except in their failures to do the right things to earn their exaltation." (The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 211-212; quoted in Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p. 149)
