Mormonism is considered to be satanic in both surface-level and fundamental ways, both in using pagan, occultic symbols, and in ascribing to fundamentally satanic principles.

Instead of being eternally, happily dependent on God, Satan desired to be independent of God.

Mormonism likewise teaches that there is a goal higher than knowing and enjoying the being of God himself, and that that includes being independent of god at least in some ways. Instead of happy, eternal, full dependence on the one God-being himself, Mormons want something more (as if there was).

One of Satan's lies in the Garden of Eden was, "you will be like God". Mormons believe this.
