Depression in Utah
From MormonWiki.org
Depression in Utah is a serious problem. "Utah leads the nation in prescriptions for anti-depressants, according to a recent study." [1] Some have attributed this to this and that. Yet, it remains obvious that with such a Mormon presence in UT, as well as their teachings to live perfect and worthy lives, a good portion of residents in UT (especially LDS) experience depression to one degree or another. It has even been said that there is a "mental health mystery" in Utah which psychiatrists speak of. [2] Aside from the theological implications, depression in Utah is a serious matter that deserves attention and time.
